To maintain consistent quality, seedlings are available for Nursery Pick-Up only. 1 Year seedlings will be ready for pickup in April or early May. Once they are ready, we will contact you to schedule pickup.
 
Szego is a hybrid cultivar that comes from a seedling of the California hybrid ‘Linden’ with the pollen parent likely being the Dunstan hybrid ‘Revival’. It is very vigorous and grows upright. It has a loose crown architecture that allows for good light penetration into the canopy, which contributes to its productivity. The nuts are large, easy to peel, and store very well. They are also considered to be some of the best for eating due to being sweet and very flavorful. Szego is resistant to phytophthora root rot. The extent of its blight resistance hasn't been determined. It is very cold-hardy.
 
Pot Sizes: Seedlings come in pots that are 4x4 inches square at the top and 9.5 inches tall to allow for excellent root development.
